Meet the Author

Born Sophia K. Amodia at 12:12 am.

A Virgo.

Master Number 22.

It's a pleasure to meet you,

Over the 8 billion people on Earth (or so they say), you’ve come across me today. If you’re here to read my memoir, I’m grateful. Vulnerability is deemed a weakness these days, depending on which side of the darkness or light you’ve throttled in life. While the world can be cruel, it is also so beautiful when you finally look within and realize how good you really have it. I’m a firm believer that everything is always in divine order, no matter how your journey is unfolding. We were all once children who embodied the purest form of creation—it is still there, waiting to be picked up and hugged again. I took the most painful and darkest moments of my life and wrapped them in a bow, as a guide, a reminder, and a reflection.

I turn my back now, letting my book reach whoever it’s meant to, and I hope that the Creator is proud of me for it. I have a lot of love in my heart, and I hope you feel it in the very pages you turn and in the frequency of my voice.

The Room I Remembered

During a family visit, I went into the bedroom searching for my Crayola trace-and-draw projector, guided by memory of where it was located, unaware I wasn’t alone.

The Dark Shadow

I was wide awake late at night when I saw a dark shape, spider-like, skittering across the wall above my mother. I disappeared beneath the covers, closed my eyes tight. When I looked again, it climbed upward and was gone. I prayed until sleep came.

Today

I finally give voice to my story, the stories of others, the fragments too vast to hold...emotions born in the womb of life, that have brought both sorrow and disease, yet also life, healing, and joy.
Today

I'm merely a reflection. A reflection of whatever you project me to be in your very own world. Imperfect in my own eyes, yet perfect in the image of the Creator – so are you.
